Trixie Kramer hates Victoria

A shocking story in today’s Times-Colonist by Carolyn Heiman about a bid by Clara “Trixie” Kramer to demolish the old Morley’s Soda Fountain building in Waddington Alley, between Yates and Johnson Streets.

I suspect that this is Kramer’s (or her family or lawyer’s) attempt at retaliation for the City’s efforts to force Kramer to pay substantial fines relating to the upkeep (or lack thereof) of this little jewel of a building.

This could be a bluff, but if it was a stunt, why would the perpetrator slip this demolition request in at the last minute before it made the late agenda at Thursday’s Council meeting? We’ve already lost some beautiful heritage buildings in Waddington Alley; we can’t afford to lose any more. This callous attitude towards our history cannot be tolerated.
