Carolyn Heiman to leave Times Colonist for BC Gov’t

Reporter Carolyn Heiman is leaving the Times Colonist at the end of this week to take on a new job with the Province’s Public Affairs Bureau.

This is sad news because her reporting on Downtown issues was excellent. She was always willing to see both sides of an issue, which was valued when covering controversial issues like development and Downtown social problems.

She has always been upfront and honest with me and has always quoted me accurately in her articles, even when I ramble on incoherently. You can’t say that about every reporter. She will be missed.
